Left Turn

My teenage niece was nervous as she took the wheel for her first driving lesson. As she was pulling out of the parking lot, the instructor said, "Turn left here and don't forget to let the people behind you know what you're doing."

She turned to the students sitting in the back seat and announced, "I'm going left!"

Inconsistently Organized

My daughter, Michelle, is the commander of a Coast Guard Cutter. When she gave my husband, Bob, a tour of her ship, he was impressed by the neatness of all the decks.

However, when Bob went to Michelle's house with her, he couldn't believe the disorganization. "Why is everything in its place on your ship," he asked, "but your house is such a mess?"

"My house," Michelle said, "does not take 30 degree rolls."

Ski Lift Trouble

A man went on a ski trip and was knocked unconscious by the chair lift. He called his insurance company from the hospital, but it refused to cover his injury.

"Why is the injury not covered"? he asked.

"You got hit in the head by a chair lift," the insurance rep said. "That makes you an idiot and we consider that a pre-existing condition."

Education: It's the Year 2012 in Cleveland Ohio, and all of the sudden the City of Cleveland wants to find a better way to educate our students, Education. As far as Edcuation goes, we need discipline, clean schools, and caring parents.  Without caring parents, including mothers and fathers, I know... two parent homes, and better examples of working parents, not welfare mothers with 6 kids and looking for more. The Country of USA was built on Christian values (the belief in God & Country), and a work ethic... Lets try that again soon!  ----- Cut the violence and cursing on tv, stop the video games, and obey the 10 Commandments.

         Inner Belt Bridge Construction  www.innerbelt.org

        Expected Completion Date: 2013

East Fourth Street - A favorite building is an upscale restaurant and bowling alley at Euclid and Fourth. The bowling alley’s restaurant spills onto East Fourth, which is a sea of tables and chairs serving 11 restaurants.  Flowers and lighting make the street incredibly inviting.

Cleveland is definitely a city worth visiting.

Cleveland Public Park Plan - A blue-ribbon Group Plan Commission assembled by Mayor Frank Jackson is working on just such a vision to make the heart of Greater Cleveland more walkable and inviting to visitors, workers and residents.

Like any proposal, the tentative plan may need tweaks. Mayor Jackson has indicated he wants to see a traffic study on the impact of closing Ontario Street to make Public Square more pedestrian-friendly. But Cleveland can't afford to miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reimagine its center and piggyback on more than

$1 billion of public and private projects already under way.

Perk Park - E. 12th St. & Chaster, St - Perk Park is a vibrant and much needed gathering space for residents, business owners and visitors of this important downtown neighborhood -

This city desert makes you feel so cold....
Its got so many people but its got no soul...
And its taken you so long...to find out you were wrong..
When you thought it held everything.
         -- Gerry Rafferty, "Baker Street"

The Arcade - marries Cleveland's past to its present. The downtown building is located on Euclid Ave., is athe Victorian-era structure of two nine-story buildings, joined by a five-story arcade with a glass skylight spanning over 300 feet, along the four balconies. Erected in 1890, at a cost of $867,000, the Arcade opened on Memorial Day (May 31, 1890)], and is identified as the first indoor shopping mall in the United States. The Arcade was modified in 1939, remodeling the Euclid Avenue entrance and adding some structural support. The Arcade is one of the city's most attractive & noteworthy buildings.

Cuyahoga County Corruption and the Dimora Trial - I often wonder daily how the people of Cuyahoga County let our County Government become so damn corrupt and the citizens of this area could not do anything about it all for years. How can/could this really be???

Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.~ Helen Keller

Cleveland's lakefront plan presented to the public,  including a marina, restaurants, shops, paddle boats, if approved in March, would go forward with development, and in place by 2013.  Mayor Jackson's Vision of the Cleveland Lakefront in 5 years:

August 27 - September 4 - The US Navy is on a 15 city tour, and "Cleveland Navy Week" will bring the Blue Angels, the Leap Frogs Parachute team, US Navy Band, flight demonstrations, ships, navy simualtor, and interactive displays, special events honoring  the open seas of over 200 years.

If you have the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed. ~ David Viscott

* Did You Know Trivia?  Cleveland's tourists are amazed by the many old building structures, and bridges in Cleveland, as well as Lake Erie, Playhouse Square, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, parks, and beautiful lakefront sunsets.  http://gocleveland.media.officelive.com/cleveland_websites.aspx

Museums - Cleveland features many museums that are famous around the country. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is a glass pyramid that was opened in 1995 along the banks of Lake Eerie. Other museums include the Dunham Tavern Museum, which is the oldest standing building in Cleveland and was built in 1824. The Cleveland Museum of Art hosts artwork by Monet, Picasso and Da Vinci.

Sports - The city of Cleveland has dealt with many decades of sports pain including famous losses described in just a few words such as "The Drive" in 1987 and "The Fumble" in 1988, representing losses the Cleveland Browns suffered in the playoffs. Michael Jordan made "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo in 1989. The pain of Cleveland goes back further to include "The Catch," which is the famous over-the-shoulder catch Willie Mays made in the 1954 World Series.
